The cashew industry has set a new record in recent years when reaching 644,000 tons, equivalent to 3.6 billion USD in 2023.
According to the General Department of Customs, in 2023, Vietnam’s cashew exports have reached 644 thousand tons, equivalent to 3.6 billion USD, an increase of 24% in volume and 18% in turnover compared to the previous year. With this result, Vietnam’s cashew industry has set a new record in recent years.
The main export markets of Vietnamese cashew nuts are the United States, China, and the Netherlands, recording positive growth. Specifically, the US market leads with 885 million USD, an increase of 5% compared to 2022.
In just the first 9 months of 2023, cashew exports recorded double-digit growth compared to the same period in 2022.
The Import-Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade) said that according to cyclical factors, Vietnam’s cashew export activities were vibrant in the last months of the year. Demand for cashew nuts for holidays and Tet increased sharply.
The Import-Export Department said that Vietnam’s cashew industry has well exploited traditional and potential markets. Cashew export forecast in 2024 still has much room for growth.
